Karen Thomas was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and was crowned as the 1st Miss Black Teenage Arizona in 1982. Karen began her journey in the banking industry at the age of 19 while working a summer job during college. Karen attended the University of Arizona for her undergraduate studies and majored in business  administration. Presently, Karen has over 25 years of experience in banking, credit union, mortgage and consumer lending.   Karen is a Certified Credit and Financial Counselor. As a proven leader in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial leadership we feel confident in her ability to ensure continued financial growth and success.

Karen currently works as a Mortgage Loan Executive at a Federal Credit Union with assets of $1.25 billion exclusively serving the U.S House of Representatives, members of Congress and Capitol Hill employees in Washington, DC. A former Bank Officer at one of the largest banks in the United States allows her to handle the task of developing and managing the budget ensuring compliance and financial regulations.

Karen has also enjoyed the opportunity to serve as a Branch Manager and Lending Manager at the number #1 Community based Credit Union in the state of Virginia. Karen is passionate and committed to educating the community by promoting financial literacy. Karen is honored and eager to give back to the next generation and community youth leaders while serving as Chief Financial Officer of the New Millennium Foundation.
