Sherri A. Covington AA, BA, MA, EdD

Dr. Sherri Covington was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, with 2 older brothers and a
younger sister. She was raised by a single parent who instilled in her at an early age the
importance of education and the value of giving back to others through community service. Dr.
Sherri Covington received a High School Diploma from East Technical High in Cleveland Ohio.
She was the 1 st generation graduate in her family to receive a college degree.
Dr. Sherri Covington’s skills and area of expertise includes education and advocacy for
professional and personal development. Dr. Covington began her educational journey by
receiving an associate degree from Cuyahoga Community College and specialized in Teaching
Mental Illness with an emphasis on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. She received a Bachelor of
Science degree from the University of Phoenix, in Business and Health with an emphasis in
Health Informatics Systems.
Sherri received a MA degree from South University, in Public Administration/ Leadership Skills
and emphasis in Nonprofit Organizations. Dr. Covington received her Doctorate degree from
Grand Canyon University in Education Organizational Leadership emphasis in Organizational
Development.
Dr. Covington is currently employed in the field of education, assisting young adults develop
self-awareness in integrating learning opportunities with real world experiences. She is most
passionate about charitable organizations which includes fundraising programs and provide
scholarships for young adults to be successful and complete their college education.
Dr. Covington continues community and charitable work by serving as the chief financial officer
for the Arizona State Conference National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP) for the past nine years -present.
